Wednesday, September 14, 2011

On Saturday, September 17th, Gym Revolt will be doing a grueling 17-minute workout for a charity known as Fight Gone Bad.  In addition to supporting Camp Patriot andISR/CrossFit Kids Initiative, their primary effort will be dedicated to raising money for the Special Operations Warriors Foundation to fully fund the college scholarships of the 21 children who lost their dads on August 6, when thirty US troops, most of whom were special forces, were killed, when a Taliban rocket downed their helicopter in east Afghanistan (for more information on Fight Gone Bad please visit www.gymrevolt.com).

Scott Zagarino, founder of the Fight Gone Bad charity event said, “These men gave us all they had. The least we can do is give them the comfort of knowing their children will be taken care of.  We'll make sure they get the education each of these men would have wanted for his children, as our way of giving thanks.”  Gym Revolt invites local media organizations to document the event first hand – camera crews and photographers are welcome – both leading up to the date and the day of.

“Fight Gone Bad captures the Gym Revolt member’s passionate commitment to personal fitness and strength and - for just one day - utilizes this passion to give back for causes that address immediate needs in our country.  Most of us have or know a father, mother, brother, sister, cousin, aunt, uncle, distant relative, or friend overseas risking their lives for our freedom.  Since Gym Revolt has proven what we can do as a community, increasing our fund raising results each year, we are proud to announce that we are an active part of this year’s mission to support these kids and veterans.  You can read more about these charities by visiting our site, under the ‘upcoming events’ tab. Thank you in advance for any and all support!” said Joseph J. Bellisano, co-founder of Gym Revolt.
Gym Revolt’s philosophy is based on the premise that our bodies and mind respond to constantly changing environments and workouts while our experiences are enhanced powerfully in a team driven environment.  We believe that our bodies can be worked effectively without expensive, exotic equipment- in a simple, spare environment without all the trappings of an expensive, trendy health club.
