FGB UPDATE

 GYM REVOLT raises over $7,900!

BERKELEY HEIGHTS — On Saturday, Sept. 17th, Gym Revolt hosted its first “Fight Gone Bad” event which raised $7,910 for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, CrossFit kids, and Camp Patriot. Ten competitors trained for several months in preparation for this seventeen minute grueling event that challenged their strength, stamina and overall fitness.  This event included push presses: pressing 75lbs overhead, sumo deadlift high pulls: pulling 75lbs off the floor-to-over pecs, wall ball shots: squatting down and tossing a 20lb ball-10ft into the wall, box jumps: jumping up and down onto a 20” platform, and row machine. The participants’ endurance and overall conditioning was tested every second of every exercise by performing the maximum amount of repetitions at each for one minute straight. To prepare for this event, Gym Revolt members met three-to-four times per week for group training classes.

The proceeds from Fight Gone Bad went to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, CrossFit kids, and Camp Patriot. “FGB is for a wonderful cause, and we were very glad to be able to host this event,” said Joe Bellisano, co-founder of Gym Revolt and manager of the event. “Our members trained hard to get ready for this competition, and they also worked hard to raise money for their sponsorships. We’re grateful for their hard work and commitment.”

On September 17, 2011, Gym Revolt: CrossFit Revolt members will come together to endure 17 minutes of one of our most grueling workouts in honor of those men and women who have given a lifetime of service and sacrifice (Special Operations Warrior Foundation).

For 17 minutes, we will push ourselves further, challenge ourselves deeper, feel the doubt and wonder if we can make it, but then remember why we are there and appreciate fully those who we wish to honor. We turn to you, our community of friends and family, to join us by donating what you can or what you are inspired to give to two phenomenal organizations that provide immediate and measurable support without waste or delay.

Fight Gone Bad: The heart of an athlete can change the game. The soul of an athlete can change the world.
